That’s Jim Marlow – the Marlow half of the Sargent/Marlow team.

I’m originally from Mosier, Oregon, have lived in Oregon, Texas, South Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts and am now in Seattle (as of August 28th, 2012 anyway). I’m married to Laura Sargent (she’s the “Sargent” in the Sargent/Marlow team) and we have a cat named Houdini.

What do I do all day? I’m Director of Operations for Certica Solutions, Inc., which does data quality analysis and testing in the K-12 space.

What interests me? Good food, good drink, a bit of biking, a bit of hiking, travel just about anywhere, and, of course, a good book!

What’s this blog all about? Laura and I are moving to Seattle (or will have if you’re reading this after August 28, 2012) and we decided to chronicle our adventure. We also both love trying new and old restaurants and bars, cooking, making cocktails and just about anything else you can do in a kitchen or bar (see our tag line above: Eat, Drink, Cook, Shake Explore – that covers it neatly).
